2010 will bring many changes for Hung up on You creations. You will see a division of my products into two lines… Happy Cupcakes and Hung up on You. Happy Cupcakes have a slightly younger target audience, and arguably both entities boast their own niche within the world of accessory organizers (you didn’t know there was a world of accessory organizers, did you?). Now it’s just a matter of expanding product offerings, streamlining material acquisition and assembly/painting, and getting them out on the shelves!

Alas, it appears I’ve fallen off the proverbial blogging horse, not intentionally but by way of distracted neglect! I have been BUSY! Future plans, uncertainties, traveling for interviews, traveling for pleasure… but here again I am!
Maybe it was my most recent custom order on Etsy that reminded me to refocus on my art! It’s easy to let your creative outlets fall to the wayside when more “demanding” or deadlined obstacles present themselves. I need to remember how great it feels to create and how it’s a great de-stressor. I long one day to make it everything I do!!
New project: long necklace rack with peach and mint colors, circle and square designs, with a splash of yellow!
This weekend: Alice in Wonderland show at The Kitschen Sink!
The Kitschen Sink (local artist venue in Ithaca -> http://kitschensinkithaca.com) will be celebrating the opening of a new Alice in Wonderland section of their shop! This section will feature well-known Ithaca artist Alice Muhlback; she is creating a semi-permanent, exclusive Alice in Wonderland line for the shop. The Alice in Wonderland (Mad Hatter Tea Party?) opening will occur May 9. Other artists who sell their work at the shop are also welcome to create Alice in Wonderland themed items. I am excited to participate and have already begun work! Last night, I painted what will soon be a key rack, with the caterpillar blowing the smoke letters “H-O-M-E” while Alice watches. I also hope to create some necklace racks with the queen, cheshire cat, Alice silhouettes, that crazy rabbit with his watch, etc. We shall see! I’ll keep you posted. :)
